Teacher Appreciation Week!

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10!

Teacher Appreciation Week is a full week of surprises and treats for our teachers and staff to say thank you for all they do for KDM and our children. Our theme this year will be "The Olympics" in celebration of the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris.

To help make this week a success, we are looking for donations of snacks and beverages/desserts and other items to complement our international teacher feast and assorted activities. If you are able, please consider SIGNING UP to bring in an item. Thank you for the support!

Snacks and beverages should be dropped off at the KDM office between May 1 and May 3rd - with the exception of the dessert items marked "for TA Lunch". Those should be dropped off on May 9th.

5th Grade Celebration

The PTO has a long standing tradition of celebrating the 5th grade class by hosting a party, creating a yearbook, and 5th grade t-shirt for each student. We need your help to make it special! We are collecting $20 from each family to help offset the costs (KDM Cares is available), and looking for parents to help out. Please submit the form below. If you are looking to make an online payment, here is the LINK.

KDM PAvilion Fundraiser

Kathryn D. Markley Elementary School (KDM) is on the brink of an exciting transformation! As we eagerly witness the ongoing construction, a unique opportunity has emerged. Now, we turn to our community to help bring our vision to life – introducing the new Multipurpose Pavilion & Outdoor Classroom!

To make way for the Great Valley School District 5/6 Center on the KDM campus, we bid farewell to our beloved old Pavilion, steeped in cherished memories. With your generous donation and the pro bono design expertise from our architectural partner, SCHRADERGROUP, the KDM Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) aims to create a stunning new Pavilion. This space will allow future generations to forge precious memories surrounded by nature’s beauty and grandeur.

Your support ensures a legacy of gratitude that will stand the test of time.

Join us in building a brighter future for KDM, where every contribution becomes a lasting symbol of community support.

4th Grade Takeover SUCCESS

KDM hosted the "4th Grade Takeover" on April 5th. The students enjoyed taking over the school and were able to hop between dancing with a live DJ, basketball and lawn games in the gym, lounging in the library, board games in the K/1 wing, and watching a movie in the 4/5 wing and pizza and snacks galore in the cafeteria. Fun was had by all. Thank you to the KDM staff who devoted their time to make this a fun evening for the kids.

A huge thanks to all of the PTO Board members and parent volunteers that helped, making it a very special evening for the graduating 4th graders!

Field Day - Volunteers Needed

This year for Field Day, KDM will be going on a World Tour!

Students will be engaging in games/activities based off of different destinations from around the world!

We are excited for this year’s event!

As part of our Field Day event, we will combine with our wonderful Heritage Day events, similar to last year’s Heritage Day event in the gym where parents volunteered to host a booth and share their knowledge with the students.

Mileage Club is back for the Spring!
